Fatigue Behavior of Epoxide Resin Cured with Aliphatic Dicarboxylic Acids by
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fatigue behaviors of structural adhesives composed of epoxide resin and aliphatic α, ω-dicarboxylic acids HOOC-(CH2)p-COOH (p=2, 4, 8 or 10) were investigated by analyzing the results of fatigue test and bulk properties of the systems. The fatigue strength and maximum value of damping increased with increasing p. The glass transition temperature, tensile strength, shear adhesive strength by tension, shear modulus and crosslinking density decreased with increasing p. On the basis of the above observations, improvement of fatigue strength was explained by considering low restriction of segmental motions, high relaxational ability, transformation of mechanical stress to heat and flexible structure of the cured system. A good correlation of fatigue strength with crosslinking density or area of tan δ curve was found to exist. (Received Sep. 28, 1978) キー・ワ ー ド: 疲 労挙動, エ ポキ シ樹脂, 脂肪族α,ω-ジ カルボ ン酸, 緩和能 力, 橋かけ密度

Chemical characterization of the ambient organic aerosol soluble in water: 1. Isolation of hydrophobic and hydrophilic fractions with a XAD-8 resin
[1] Group separation of the aqueous extract of fine particles bearing water-soluble organic carbon (WSOC) provides unique insights into the sources of organic carbon (OC). XAD-8 resin coupled with a Total Organic Carbon analyzer allows for direct quantification. We term the fraction of WSOC not retained by a XAD-8 resin column at pH 2 as hydrophilic WSOC (WSOCxp); this includes saccharides, ami...
متن کاملDetermination of structure and composition of suberin from the roots of carrot, parsnip, rutabaga, turnip, red beet, and sweet potato by combined gas-liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Suberin from the roots of carrots (Daucus carota), parsnip (Pastinaca sativa), rutabaga (Brassica napobrassica), turnip (Brassica rapa), red beet (Beta vulgaris), and sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) was isolated by a combination of chemical and enzymatic techniques. Finely powdered suberin was depolymerized with 14% BF(3) in methanol, and soluble monomers (20-50% of suberin) were fractionated in...
متن کاملQuinoline based receptor in fluorometric discrimination of carboxylic acids
Quinoline and naphthalene-based fluororeceptors 1 and 2 have been designed and synthesized for detection of hydroxy carboxylic acids in less polar solvents. The receptor 1 shows monomer emission quenching followed by excimer emission upon hydrogen bond-mediated complexation of carboxylic acids. The excimer emission distinguishes aromatic dicarboxylic acids from aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and ...
متن کاملEpoxy Coatings Physically Cured with Hydroxyl-contained Silica Nanospheres and Halloysite nanotubes
Epoxy coatings are usually reinforced by the use of nanofillers, but reactive nanofillers having physical tendency towards epoxide ring opening are preferable. In this work, nanosilica (SiO2) and halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) known for their hydroxyl-contained surface are used and their effects on the curing behavior of an epoxy/amine coating is compared. The spherical and tubular nano...
متن کاملDetermination of the main aliphatic carboxylic acids in kraft black liquors by high- performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry
In kraft pulping, wood polysaccharides are subjected to the end-wise degradation (i.e., the peeling reaction) under alkaline conditions with the simultaneous formation of a large number of water/alkali-soluble hydroxy monoand dicarboxylic acids together with formic and acetic acids [1-3]. The versatile analysis of organic material in black liquor is of a great importance, for example, for monit...
